On Saturday 27th April 30 athletes ranging from two different age groups ( 12U and 14U ) travelled to the SAS Track for the annual ACSIS Athletics Championships. It was a wet and windy morning but the Dragons Team were ready bright and early for action after a long season preparing for the competition.

The event, once again, turned out to be a very successful day with the athletes competing from 8am through to 2.00pm across the events. In each event, whether it was a field or track event our Dragons athletes demonstrated performances way and above our expectations. All athletes took away personal bests and many received 1st, 2nd, or 3rd medals for their events.

A lot of our athletes were new to some of the events, especially the throwing events, as we do not have a cage to practice in, however, their natural talent and strength proved that they had the fundamentals to achieve some superb performance.

Individually a special mention must go to Jackson, Tilly, Tanmayi, Gauri, Morgan and Jakub who all demonstrated outstanding performances.

Collectively we need to mention our 4x100m relay teams in each age group who demonstrated fantastic effort and team commitment.

Overall we achieved - ( out of 14 schools )

14U Boys 3rd place

14U Girls 4th place

Well done to all the competitors who all deserve medals for their performances in a very long and hot competition.
