Last week, delegates from the UWCSEA East MUN club participated in the SEASAC MUN 2019 conference held at Harrow International School Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand from the 2nd to the 4th of March 2019.

With the opportunity to participate in SEASAC in a fantastic overseas conference, we sent 20 students from our club with 16 participating as delegates and 4 as chairs. Throughout the weekend our delegates and chairs were involved in debate on a myriad of issues and prevalent world affairs. The level of participation, commitment and high calibre of debate shown by all was greatly commendable.

With more than 10 schools from South East Asia attending this conference, and over 140 delegates, it is a true testament to our student’s quality of debate that they ended up being the recipients of the ‘Best Delegate’ award in 6 out of 9 of the committees. The chairs present at the conference found the overall calibre of debate by our delegates to be admirable. We also won the award for 'Best Chair'.

Aside from the exemplary standard of proposed solutions and ideas, the conferenced posed as an opportunity for our delegates to acquire knowledge on various cultures and meet delegates from other schools and countries. We hope that this conferences helps to build on the skills and procedures delegates learn in our MUN club to ensure the continued high level of debate our delegates have displayed.
