The UWCSEA East Cross Country team competed in the SEASAC Cross Country Championships which were hosted by Alice Smith School (KLASS) on 31st November and 1st December. This was the ultimate event of the Cross Country season and the opportunity for the students to put all the hard work from this seasons training into practice. The event was split into an individual 5km race on day one and a 2.5km team relay on day 2.

On day one, our team of 10 runners completed a challenging and technical two lap, 5km course which included two short but steep uphill sections whilst day two was a 2.5km team relay.

In the girls individual race, Nayana kept a consistent fast pace throughout the entire race and held the lead to come in 1st place for the girls and cap of an amazing achievement by winning her final SEASAC race.

In the boys individual race Thys and Yohan got off to a great start and led the pack for the first lap. Yohan managed to maintain the pace and lead the race until the final stage of the 2nd lap, coming in a respectable 3rd place overall with Thys just behind in 4th.

In the team relay both teams ran superbly and pushed their bodies to the limit over the shorter and fast 2.5km distance. Something to mention was the team spirt and support shown by our students, throughout the two days.

Overall the team came 2nd in both the boys and girls competition. The team were very happy with the overall results and the students represented the school very well.
